Community Partners
InToto partners with organizations in Birmingham to provide visual arts, creative writing, theater, creative movement, and yoga classes to their clients.
Offender Alumni Association creates a network of justice-impacted individuals who inspire each other to reduce crime, develop healthy relationships within their community and provide opportunities for economic, social, and civic empowerment. Their Heroes in the Hood program mentors system involved youth aged 13–17 over a three-year period to instill work ethics and a sense of community pride.
The Community Education Resource Center is an initiative of the APA+E Project that provides support for people who are system-impacted. Located in Birmingham, CERC recognizes the diverse and intersectional challenges involved in re-entry and partners with community organizations to bring classes that are tailored to student needs.
